Dept. of Korean Language & Literature

The Dept. of Korean Language & Literature at Sungkyul University is striving for the educational goal of fostering creative professionals with practical skills through a deep understanding of Korean culture and society based on the Christian spirit. The Dept. of Korean Language & Literature aims to cultivate not only Korea but also world-class experts and creative talents with a broad and in-depth understanding of history and culture based on an academic understanding of Korean language and Korean literature. In addition, we strive to cultivate people who do not become confined to a fixed frame and open up their own lives independently by studying Korean language and literature. The Dept. of Korean Language & Literature also teaches knowledge of Korean literature such as Korean phonology, Korean grammar, and Korean history, knowledge of classical Korean literature such as oral literature, classic novels, and Chinese literature, and knowledge of modern and contemporary Korean literature such as contemporary novels, contemporary poetry, and contemporary plays. In order to learn, expand, and apply specialized knowledge of Korean literature through grade-level class courses, we teach cultural theory, creation theory, Korean language education theory, publication theory, and broadcasting theory. In addition to regular classes, we aim for human and academic exchanges between professors and students, seniors and juniors while learning about the attractiveness of Korean literature through creative meetings, criticism research meetings, theater activities, and academic explorations.

Dept. of English Language & Literature

The Dept. of English Language & Literature at Sungkyul University enhances the understanding of English-speaking literature and culture based on the Christian spirit through the study of English literature and English culture, making it an opportunity \to cultivate character. In addition, the purpose of education is to explore various theories of English Linguistics, cultivate professionalism to cope with creativity in the modern information-oriented society through practical English learning based on this, return the acquired knowledge and ability to society, and contribute to the community.

Dept. of Chinese Language & Literature

The Department of Chinese Language and Literature at Sungkyul University develops experts by having a broad understanding of Chinese society and culture based on the Christian spirit, which is the university ideology, and learning Chinese character and Chinese language which is used by the world's largest population. We help to build basic knowledge of Chinese culture and literature through complete acquisition of Chinese. Also, based on the Christian spirit of service, we are devoting ourselves to cultivating experts with an international sense who can proactively work in the international society of the 21st century.
