Introduction

Education is the transfer of all the knowledge and culture accumulated in the previous history to future generations. And by cultivating the infinite possibilities of human beings and delivering new knowledge and culture, they decide the future fate of the nation. The College of Education recognizes the importance of such education and has a sense of mission to take responsibility for Korean secondary education in the 21st century. Dept. of Early Childhood Education

The Dept. of Early Childhood Education at Sungkyul University was established with the goal of cultivating early childhood experts with active coping skills, professional knowledge and practical skills in early childhood education. All faculty members are working together to make every effort to foster autonomous early childhood education experts who practice love for local communities and neighbors with a sense of social responsibility. Through the four-year curriculum, students of this department can acquire the ‘Kindergarten Level 2 Qualified Teacher Certificate’ and the ‘Childcare Teacher Level 2 Certificate’ as well as the ‘Child Care Teacher Certificate for Infants with Disabilities’.

Dept. of Physical Education

Physical training is not the exclusive property of some sportsmen, but is a field of interest to all who pursue a healthy life. It plays a big role in improving the quality of life and is one of the most promising fields of the 21st century, especially with the development of science and technology and medicine. The Dept. of Physical Education aims to foster competent secondary school teachers who have not only leadership skills in physical education subjects, but also athletic ability through various sports activities and the ability for a healthy life. Students can learn the theoretical knowledge and practical skills they need as a physical education teacher through a variety of subjects designed to acquire and improve the motor skills of various sports. Through the curriculum of the Dept. of Physical Education, students will learn and hone physical theories and practical skills required in modern society, and acquire professional physical education instruction skills.

Dept. of Education

The teaching course at College of Education was established and operated in the Dept. of Early Childhood Education in 1980 and the Dept. of Physical Education in 1999. The teaching courses for other colleges were established in the Dept. of Christian Education in 1993 (since 1997), the Dept. of Chinese Language & Literature in 2000, the Dept. of Theatre & Film in 2005, and the Dept. of Beauty in 2009 (Abolished since 2014), and are specialized and operated as a small group. The university's teaching curriculum was established with the educational purpose to cultivate excellent professional teachers with Christian personality, creativity, and service spirit, in response to the Christian educational ideology and the demands of the state and society.
