The College of IT Engineering at Sungkyul University aims to cultivate leaders and engineers in the field of science and technology with international competitiveness. The coming 21st century will be an era where rapidly changing technology leads society. Therefore, engineers will play a great role and responsibility in modern society. The College of IT Engineering provides educational courses by dividing the fields into computer engineering, information and communication engineering, multimedia engineering, and industrial management. We will do our best to further raise our domestic and international status by instilling confidence and vision as leaders who will carry the future while pursuing ceaseless reform and development while continuing the excellent tradition.

The Dept. of Computer Engineering aims to cultivate practical human resources required in the field of computer technology on the basis of Christian personality education and various liberal arts education.

The Dept. of Computer Engineering was ranked second in the country in the 2007 education curriculum evaluation by the Ministry of Education and industry, and was recognized for its excellence in curriculum. In addition, it was selected as the first specialized department at Sungkyul University and aims to “cultivate global IT professionals”. During each semester vacation, industry experts are invited as lecturers to provide intensive in-depth education and practical training in the fields of C, Java, security, and IOT. Through the above-described practical professional education, students receive an additional semester of education for free until graduation, and after graduation, they can adapt to the field and develop their ability to work. In addition, programs such as IT tours and job experience abroad, which provide financial support as well as lectures by native-speaking professors, are conducted. Engineering certification education has been conducted from 2008 to present, and most of the students are graduating with engineering certification education, and all students enrolled since 2016 are graduating with engineering education certification. Based on engineering certification education and specialized programs, we have the goal of being ranked 10th in education competitiveness among computer-related departments within the next five years.

We train professional engineering students with excellent technical manpower and creative abilities who will play a pivotal role in the computer and communication industry. Through gatherings such as group research and discussions in technology-related clubs, students have a sense of community and sense of responsibility, and participate in the project process to improve their R&D capabilities. In addition, we invite domestic and foreign experts to participate in academic activities, and conduct the latest high-tech information search through the information network to acquire information related to new academics and technologies. By developing industry-academia cooperation programs with industrial research institutes, electronics companies, software companies, and telecommunication companies, you can have the ability to adapt to the field by familiarizing yourself with field practices.

The Dept. of Media Software provides education that can reasonably recognize and solve various problems in the media software field through an overall understanding of information science. Therefore, by having the ability to develop multimedia contents, technology and understanding of society and culture, students can grow into creative experts with international cooperation ability, Christian ethics and responsibility.

In this department, we are fostering practical talents tailored to the field-oriented demands, and since 2017, the department belongs to the College of IT Engineering and is reorganized.
