He is a former dean of job plus center and director of Industry-Academy Cooperation Foundation. He received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Stevens Institute of Technology, USA in 1999. He has published more than one hundred papers including leading SCI journals, IEEE Transactions on SMC, Multimedia Systems, Virtual Reality, Journal of Visual Language and Computing, Computer Animation and Virtual Worlds, Color Research and Applications, Computers in Industry, IEEE Transactions on CE, Computer Assisted Surgery, Journal of Sensors, Journal of Bio-Medical Materials and Engineering and Virtual Reality Software Technology etc. His research outcomes have mainly been supported by the competitive funding such as IITP, NRF, KOSEF, SMBA, MOCIE and KOFAC Prof. Chin continues to consult with those institutions as an evaluator and advisor.
